It was focused on designers who already knew the basics of modeling in SketchUp, but were struggling to bring their models into LayOut efficiently. When I published the first edition of SketchUp to LayOut, I packed in all the intermediate and advanced workflows for preparing a SketchUp model for LayOut. SketchUp to LayOut is the complete guide you've been looking for Take on more projects than you've ever thought possible and grow your business and make more money. Eliminate modeling roadblocks and get your projects done quickly. You need a better foundational knowledge of SketchUp and LayOut so you can model intuitively and effortlessly. Maybe you explore the SketchUp forum or the help section to find your answers. Where is the layers panel? Oh, they're called tags now? You realize you haven't been using groups or components properly.

Success! You figure out the issue and move on with your project. I run the MasterSketchUp YouTube channel, where I've got over 100,000 subscribers. You probably come across one of my videos. You search for a video to try and figure out your problem. Some of the faces are blue, and some are white, what's up with that? When you try to move one thing, other parts of the model move too. You think, "Yeah, I got this." Just create a rectangle and push/pull it, and boom, you've got a 3D model.īut then, you realize things are starting to stick to one another. You want to use SketchUp and LayOut to create beautiful 3D models and plans. Thanks to everyone and is a pleasure to be part of such an amazing community. The only SketchUp and LayOut book you need Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone have any advice or can steer me in a direction that could help me develop a rendering workflow using cad, su and ps only. I also have Photoshop CS6 which I’m learning different ways of rendering. Now it’s just a matter of speeding up my workflow. But I do have autocad in which I’m proficient, SU which I’m able to model almost anything. I can’t afford a rendering engine at this point. I’m just having a tough time creating awesome renderings without the modern architecture and materials. I just want to be able to add rendering services that can set me apart from competition. I’m an autocad guru that can offer design and drafting services to many of my friends in the industry. I haven’t been able to create even descent photorealistic rendering with the more historical and traditional architecture that is a huge part of the Charleston area. Materials likemodern like glass, wood, metal and synthetics seem to work better when creating a rendering. I feel that is easier to make this modern architecture pop more from a visualization point of view. It’s been tough because all of the tutorials and research that I’ve found are more tailored to urban scenes and modern architecture houses.

I’ve been trying to find a way to create architectural visualization renderings for residential landscape designs. I want to contract 3d design services to many of the companies in the area. While studying LA at Clemson over 9 years ago, we touched on the very basics of SU because I don’t think anyone knew at that timethat it would become the staple in design that it is today. For the last 2 months I’ve been dedicating all my time in learning SU. There is a lack of LAs and designers here that have the skills and knowledge to produce 3d models and animations. But I’ve gotten to the point in which I want to start my own venture and fill a niche within my local industry. Step-by-step, illustrated tutorials are used to teach every feature of SketchUp: drawing tools, components and groups, materials and textures, working with Google Earth, presentation, animation, and more. I’ve worked for and with some of the most renowned LAs in the Southeast. Based on the material in our pro-level SketchUp books, this student book is designed for use in the classroom. I have 18 years experience in the landscape design/build industry. (Continued from above) in Charleston, SC.
